Today was for the birds
Seems I can't do much to attract human customers but if I fill some feeders in the yard, I get all sorts of visitors. Thats the ticket - I need to put some feeders in the studio....or maybe have beer available and I might get someone to stop by. I'll have to think about that. :)
But here are some pics of some of the feathered friends that stopped off in the yard and entertained me today...<warning> I normally know zip about birds but these two featured species are Blue Jays and a White Heron. Enjoy.
For the geeks: all captures except the White Heron taken with a Nikon D7100, 200mm f/2 lens with 1.7x TC making its focal length 340mm, exposures ranged from f/5.6 to f/7.1 shutter speeds of 1/1250th mostly and ISO from 800 to 1000. The White Heron was taken with a 70-200 f/2.8 VRII with same 1.7x TC making it 340mm. Exposure was f/6.3, 1/1600th, ISO 400. Same D7100 body.
I'm setting up time to go shoot some very old rusted hulks of vintage cars pretty soon. I found a treasure trove of them along with tons of older "junk" worthy of a few shots. The owner is super nice and offered the place up any time. I'm waiting for the right light. Stay tuned for that....
